Submission Guidelines
At this time, only short plays will be considered for our readings, and should adhere to the following guidelines:- Play should be typed in standard script format
- Any genre/style, but prefer comic to tragic; strange, provocative OK
- Running time: between 10-15 minutes (standard 1 minute per page, so no more than 15 pages, please)
- Dialogue driven, i.e., not dependent on stage directions being read to convey action
- 1-4 characters
- Include author contact information on title page
- We are also actively seeking short plays appropriate for young children (ages 4-12), either original works or adaptations of fables, fairy tales, or stories in the public domain. An excellent reference for those wishing to adapt works in the public domain: http://www.gutenberg.org
Please note:
If your play is selected for a benefit reading, you will not receive any financial compensation and it will be a donation to that reading. Please do not submit a play requiring royalty payments, permissions, etc., unless you, the playwright, are prepared to deal with the administrative work and pay all expenses yourself.
